Health and Safety Audits
WHAT IS SAFETY AUDITING?
A structured process of collecting independent information on the efficiency, effectiveness and reliability of the total health and safety management system and drawing up plans for corrective action.
Audits are often overlooked by many organisations due to time & resource constraints. Tetra offers a complete service of conducting the audit and issuing you with a written report on the findings. Most audits take 1 full day, but this depends on the size of your company and geographical layout of your premises.
Our audit will consider various subject areas including:
- Management of Health and Safety and the Safety Policy
- Accidents and accident reporting
- Asbestos Management
- Electrical safety
- Fire Prevention & Emergencies
- Manual Handling Operations
- Machinery and Equipment
- Noise
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Risk Assessment Requirements
- Hazardous Substances
- Training
- Use of Vehicles/Vehicle Safety
- Workplace Environment
- Work at Height
Following this activity a comprehensive report will be prepared that identifies where attention is needed to meet legislation and what action is needed, and why.
Recommendations will be broken down into three categories:
- those that must be addressed because the law requires it;
- those that are good practice and ought to be addressed by a responsible and progressive employer, and;
- other enhancements to health, safety or welfare that are worth considering.
